iPhone Nano Plans Leaked

Thursday, May 10, 2007

Documents released on the US Patient and Trademake Office website today show a new concept from Apple for a tiny touch-phone, but will this possible "iPhone Nano" look anything like its big brother?

The Apple iPhone, still unreleased for at least another month, has been causing quite a stir among the tech-savvy internet community for nearly a year. It comes as no big surprise that next-gen iPhone concepts, speculation, and discussion is already running rampant online.

The documents filed by Apple Computer Inc., form part of a patent application, showing a nano-sized device with a non-touch screen on the front and traditional scroll wheel around the back. The perceived idea is that as you touch the scroll wheel, the display shows semi-transparent controls on the front.

Apple's new "clickwheel" concept is also force sensitive, meaning a light touch will make the iPhone's menu selection hover, while a firmer prod makes a selection.

New Video Reveals Hidden iPhone Features

Tuesday, Feburary 27, 2007

A new video by Actioncorp has pointed out several unmentioned features of the Apple iPhone by analyzing Steve Jobs' recent MacWorld keynote. The most interesting revelation may be the possibility of ringtones bought or created by the user, which is suggested by the discovery of a "Ringtones" tab used in the keynote version of iTunes.

A closer look at the calendar application, which was briefly mentioned during the presentation, reveals three different views (Day, Month, Year) and a display of upcoming events within a timeframe.

Also, when scrolling through lists on the phone, such as your contacts list, a column of letters on the right-hand side lets users tap to instantly jump the corresponding alphabetical section.

If you missed the Oscars, you can still see the new iPhone ad, titled "Hello" on Apple's website: apple.com/iphone/hello/
